Origin: United Kingdom
The Whiteface Woodland is a rare sheep breed from the Woodlands of Hope in the area of South Pennines in England. It is a combination of breeding the Woodland and the Penistone sheep. It is thought to be closely related to the Swaledale and the Lonk.
They are one of the largest of the hill breeds. Both rams and ewes are horned, and the rams' horns are spiralled.
