Aran weight is in the heavier range of medium size yarn. Still within category size 4, but about 10% heavier than typical worsted weight

  • Typical knitting gauge: 16-18sts = 10cm (4") in stockinette stitch
  • Typical knitting needle size: 5.0-6.0 (US 8-10)
  • Typical crochet gauge: 11-13sts = 10cm (4") in single crochet
  • Typical crochet hook size: 6.0-6.5mm (US J-K)
