About the breed
Lonk sheep are a medium sized breed of sheep from Northern England, and are a hardy breed adapted to the poor grazing conditions of the region.
They have been reared on the Lancashire fells for hundreds of years, with flock books recording starting 1905.
It is reported on the rare breeds survival trust as "at risk"
