About the breed

Although not officially established as a recognized breed until the 19th century, Bergschaf sheep are believed to be one of the oldest breeds.

This Austrian mountain breed has its origins in the Tirol region. They are a multi-use sheep well-suited to grazing and foraging in the mountains.
