Manos del Uruguay Alegria is a buttery-soft hand painted merino wool yarn blended with nylon (polyamide) for durability.

Manos del Uruguay, "the hands of Uruguay" is a non-profit organization which assembles women in cooperatives scattered throughout the countryside of Urugay.

The aim of the organization is to bring economic and social opportunities to rural women.

Manos del Urugay is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization.

We recommend buying enough yarn to complete a project. If there is a great difference between skeins, or if you wish to avoid colour pooling, we recommend working two rows from one skein and two from another throughout the project to provide an overall blending effect.

This product needs to be wound into a cake or ball prior to working.
