The May project is a farewell party for cotton-linen blend Cascade Hampton.
Hampton gets its softness from Pima cotton, and its subtle texture from linen. It's a dream to work with. It's machine-washable, making it easy to take care of too.
Unfortunately, this yarn is now discontinued, so get it while you still can! At only $8.40/skein (marked down from $13.99), it's a great value.
The pattern is a free download from the Cascade Yarns website.
This sleeveless top has lace panels at the hem, and a simple cable pattern to add to the silhouette.
Get ready for summer, and give this yarn the send-off it deserves.
A couple of notes about the pattern ...
Although the pattern calls for a 24" circular needle, I found it much easier to work on a 32" for the main body. Especially before the side shaping, the stitches will be very crowded on 24".
Although the pattern doesn't say to, I found it helpful to put a stitch marker at the halfway point to mark the end of the front/beginning of the back.
The pattern seems to be missing instructions for the 40th row of knitting. So when you finish the 39 rows of the godet chart, work one more row as follows before continuing with the pattern:
- Work all knit and purl stitches as they appear, and follow row 4 of the cable charts.
